Majorca

Majorca was SO MUCH FUN and the best way to end our trip. Even though rain was predicted the whole weekend, it ended up being beautiful sunny weather! I had no idea the island is pretty much a British invasion, so it was almost like we weren't even in Spain which was weird. We spent our last days riding bikes, reading on the beach, and walking around the peaceful town at the height of the off season - it was like we had the island to ourselves! Not too bad if you ask me!

I knew a must for Majorca was eating Paella. I have had it only once before, but this stuff was out of this world! I wish they had more of this stuff in the states! Another strange thing we noticed about Majorca is that it's almost like a mini Vegas, once the sun sets you don't even feel like it's nighttime because of all of the neon lights from the high concentration of bars! Apparently all there is to do on this island is hang out on the beach...and drink a lot at night. Or, do karaoke, which was our lovely decision that evening.
As you may notice, the names of these bars were not too creative. We spent our night at "The Prince William Pub" and these are our faces the morning after. Prince William kicked our ass. I wonder if he gets royalties or something for the pub being named after him? Oh wait, you also can't forget "Prince Harry food 2 Carry" which was right next door. Those crazy Brits.

Barcelona

By the time we got to Barcelona, we were a bit tired. One can only wear unwashed clothes for so long and spend hours on end traveling from place to place, and Barcelona was a bit overwhelming for our state of mind. If I could do it again, I would travel to Barcelona first on my trip, that way I really would have been able to soak up all the city has to offer. I was bad and didn't do any reading about the city until I got there, and I wasn't prepared to see all of Gaudi's crazy architecture. Here are some of my pictures from Spain, I am taking the lazy attitude in writing this since my attitude throughout Spain was the same way.
At the port, using my cheesy bus headphones to "listen to Chrissy's heart."

On the beach!
Gaudi's famous lizard at Park Guell.

The Sagrada Famiglia, still a work in progress.

By the time we rode the overnight ferry to Majorca, I thought I was done and ready to go home. But Majorca's relaxing, beautiful beaches changed our minds about leaving anytime soon...

St. Patty's in Ireland

It's every college student's dream come true...Spending St. Patrick's Day in the motherland of Dublin. And amazingly enough...it was everything I dreamed it to be! Everybody is there, in the bars at 11am, ready to party - hard. Then the bars close before 2, probably because everyone is passed out already. Dublin is basically a big University town with a high concentration of bars, Trinity College, the Guinness Factory, St. Patrick's Cathedral and the Guinness Factory. Being in Ireland was unlike any other experience I had in Europe - probably because everyone speaks English, and no other country parties like the Irish. And of course, Guinness really only tastes good while you're in Ireland. Enjoying our first Guinness

HOPS!

Really buying into the Guinness Brand...

St. Patrick's Day Parade ~ I don't even remember the last time I went to a real parade, so it was great being in the front row of the busy parade. There were a lot of random acts that walked through the parade, including the band from Shorecrest highschool in Washington - that was a shocker.

Later that day we ventured to the free Irish Dancing concert, which was also quite a trip with tons of people dancing and just vibing to the music.

Later on St. Patty's Day, we went out to the bars for the big celebration. We ran into a group of pilots, firefighters, and flight attendants that we met at the Guinness Factory. All of them were veterans of being in Dublin for St. Patrick's, so we followed them and ended up having the craziest night of the trip.
