Siena

Siena was a good change from Rome. After a comfy bus ride with a great view of the Tuscan countryside, we were there! The view from the bus!

We checked into our hotel and went exploring through the busy streets. I couldn't believe how crowded it was, I can only imagine what it's like in the Spring and Summer! We relaxed in the Piazza del Campo and then went to lunch. I had one of my first authentic Italian meals - pasta with olive and duck sauce. I'm usually not that into duck, but this was good! Chrissy tried the boar pasta, also unique and delish. The rest of the day was spent exploring, relaxing, and going to the Duomo, the famous Church in Siena.
Chillin in the Piazza del Campo, a great place to people watch in Siena.
The famous Duomo, too bad there was a crane in the way ruining my shot!

This one is for you Jen, Pooh was randomly sitting on a pillar in the Piazza del Campo all by himself!
On Sunday we ventured up to the top of the Torre del Mangia, the big tower in the Piazza del Campo. It took us a good 15 minutes to walk up the entire thing, and I think I almost passed out from being so claustrophobic. But once we got to the top it was amazing! We didn't get the most spectacular view since it was a little foggy out, but it was still totally worth the 7 euros I paid to go up there.

We were up SO high!

Dusk in Siena
Great picture. It reminds me of the song, "WHEN THE MOON HITS YOUR EYE LIKE A BIG PIZZA PIE THAT'S AMORE..."
Mom...I bought you a present that was hand-painted from this man. His family has been painting things for generations. I bet you can't guess what I bought you...
Pooh also enjoyed the view of the Piazza del Campo.

I love the blog and think it's a great way to communicate. It is really much better than waiting until you get home to review the photos and to hear the commentary.
I hope that Jenna sees your posting snad the special attention paid to her favorite character, Pooh!
Enjoy your time there, rain or shine. You're seeing a lot of cool stuff.
