Carnivale in Venice!!!

Carnivale in Venice...where do I even start? Although the weather was a bit dreary, we still had a BLAST over the course of the entire weekend. Even though I had been to Venice in highschool, I had no memory whatsoever of how to navigate the city. So most of the time, we just walked around and got lost, which is probably one of my favorite things to do in new cities. I stayed at a place with the boys in our group so that was a good change of pace as well because they all are much more relaxed when it comes to making plans. There were those stressful moments where we were all out together and it was just hard to get things together in such a big group, but looking back it was a pretty hilarious weekend. New friendships were made and here all some of my memories in pictures.

On Saturday, I walked around with one of the boys to make a solid plan for the night. It was a GREAT time and we danced the night away.
Chrissy was having a moment with Captain Planet apparently...
Obviously, the best part about Carnivale is DRESSING UP!!! Most of us bought masks to wear out which was really fun. I have always wanted to dress up in masquerade so it was like a dream come true!

During the weekend, everybody parties out in the many squares of Venice. There are stages everywhere with cool performances and great music.
I was channeling bat girl on Saturday night...

In St. Marks Square meeting up with the rest of the group.

On Friday night, I went big and wore my fancy mask. Apparently, Carnivale is all about scandal and promiscuity, so that is why there is the tradition of wearing masks. It's like Halloween in the states...only much classier.
You really never know what you are going to find in a random alley in Venice. Coma found this broom, so I think Harry Potter was in the vicinity.
One of the many outfits you see during the day in all the busy areas of Venice.

The boys decided to go for the more scary approach to the mask theme.

On the Rialto Bridge.

In St. Marks Square I decided to avoid the pigeon party and just take pictures of the boys getting attacked. I wasn't about to let a million pigeons poop on my white jacket...
